Stack’s Bowers Galleries Announces Expanded Gold Trading Operations

Stack’s Bowers Galleries today announced the return of Richard Gonzales as its Director of Gold Trading.  Mr. Gonzales has over 30 years of experience in numismatics, precious metals and generic gold.  Also announced today is the return of Amandeep Jassal, numismatist and gold trader, to the Stack’s Bowers New York City offices to lead our new East Coast U.S. Gold trading desk.

Solid Results Achieved at Stack’s Bowers’ January 2016 NYINC Auction!

Stack’s Bowers Galleries is pleased to announce the results of their January 2016 NYINC auction of World Coins, World Paper Money and Ancient Coins. The firm’s first sale of 2016 featured a fabulous array of material that was anchored by several prominent collections, including Part III of the Syracuse Collection of highly prized Greek and Roman issues, as well as the legendary Lennart Philipson Collection of Swedish coinage. Other notable consignments included the Groh Collection of Czechoslovakia gold and the Dr. Michael Phillip Collection. Overall results were a vote of confidence in the current market, with over $3.9 million in prices realized. (All prices realized include the standard buyer’s premium.)

Unique Fr.212b 1864 $500 Interest Bearing Note Leads Stack’s Bowers November Baltimore Currency Auction

A unique Fr.212b 1864 $500 Interest Bearing Note that had been off of the market for more than 40 years realized $352,500 to lead the Currency Auction of the Whitman Coin and Collectibles Winter Expo. The Stack’s Bowers Galleries Official Whitman Expo Auction, which also included U.S. coins and world coins and currency, realized over $7.9 million, with the currency bringing $1,534,950. All prices include a 17.5% Buyer’s Premium.

Stack’s Bowers Galleries November 2015 Baltimore Auction Realized Over $7.9 Million, with over $5 Million in U.S. Coins

Once again, the Stack’s Bowers Galleries Official Auction of the Whitman Coins & Collectibles Baltimore Expo attracted great excitement. The sale comprised six separate offerings of United States coins, beginning with a Rarities Night session and concluding with two Internet Only sessions. With spirited activity overall, the November Baltimore U.S. coin auction garnered over $5 million. The event also included U.S. currency and world coins and currency, bringing the total prices realized to over $7.9 million. All prices include the buyer’s premium.
