$10 1852 XF 45 PCGS Humbert
Mostly yellow-golden with a touch of sunset-golden near the rim on the obverse. Average strike. Surfaces are textured with shallow scuffs and micro-ticks, typical of this issue. No particularly hard or detracting contact marks. A very nice lightly circulated example of this historic semi-private gold coinage emission, struck in association with the U.S. Assay Office in San Francisco prior to the establishment of the Mint. Of the 115 coins of this type certified by PCGS 19 have been certified at this level with just 18 finer.
