Description

Undated (1834-1837) Christopher Bechtler $1 Gold. K-3. Rarity-6. 28.G. Centered, No Star. EF-45 (PCGS).

An elusive variety, this is the first example of the C. Bechtler K-6 Gold Dollar that this cataloger can recall handling in quite some time. Handsome surfaces exhibit mottled coppery highlights to otherwise dominant khaki-olive color. Boldly defined with only light wear, direct angles also call forth glints of original mint finish from the protected areas around the devices. A few wispy pinscratches in the fields are noted for accuracy.
