Description

1723 Wood's Hibernia Halfpenny. Breen-154. MS-62 BN (PCGS).

A lovely, frosty example with lustrous surfaces melodiously toned down, still nearly half red on the obverse. Good cartwheel is present on both sides, some faded mint color present on reverse, old spots present at date and between IU of GEORGIUS. Two short abrasions are present under A of GRATIA, some natural roughness on cheek, a very handsome example.

PCGS#: 180

Pedigree: From the Collection of Jim Jones. Purchased from David Bland Galleries on June 8, 1988.
