Description

1722 Wood's Hibernia Halfpenny. Martin 4.7-C.6, W-12810. Rarity-5. Second Type, Harp at Right. AU-55 (PCGS).

112.4 grains. Medium to dark brown on the obverse and reverse with smooth wear on the high points of the curls. Clean surfaces with minimal signs of circulation or handling. Identifiable by a small planchet chip from the rim to the E of REX. Usual die state with the reverse displaying extensive crumbling and die rust. An attractive example of this die pairing for the color as well as the surfaces.
