Description

1723 Wood's Hibernia Halfpenny. Martin 4.27-Gc.6, W-Unlisted (W-13120 for similar type). Rarity-2. MS-64 BN (PCGS).

107.3 grains. Outstanding quality and eye appeal for the collector, as the color is a uniform light brown, while the fields and devices are free of rough patina or handling marks. This is a later die state with showing clashing at the top, while the reverse has a thin crack through the 23 down to the harp, another above portions of HIBERNIA. A prize for the collector seeking a well struck and high grade example to represent this type or variety.

PCGS#: 180

Pedigree: From the Ted L. Craige Collection. Paper envelope included.
