Description

1723 Wood's Hibernia Halfpenny. Martin 4.76-Gd.2, W-13570. Rarity-5. MS-63 BN (PCGS).

109.7 grains. The obverse is the intermediate die state with sharp and clear lettering and devices but also shows thin die cracks including one down the R of GRATIA to the forehead, others through the bust and below. For the reverse there are thin die cracks through the tops of HIB and two in the date. Attractive faded mint color with a dash of satiny luster and one minor speck above the date. A scarce die pairing and especially so this well preserved and pleasing.
