Description

1723 Wood's Hibernia Halfpenny. Martin 4.57-Fa.4, W-12880. Rarity-3. MS-65 BN (PCGS).

120.7 grains. Handsome faded mint color in the recesses of the design for this pleasing Gem coin. This is an early to intermediate die state with a couple of areas showing early cracks and die chipping as well as the heavy dentil clashing on the lower reverse field just above the rim. The strike is sharp overall save for trace softness at the centers. Strong visual appeal and a pleasing example of this variety.

PCGS#: 180

Pedigree: From the Ted L. Craige Collection. Paper envelope included.
