Description

1723 Wood's Hibernia Farthing. Martin 2.1-Bc.1, W-12350. Rarity-5. DEI. GRATIA. REX. AU-58+ (PCGS).

Glossy chestnut-tan surfaces reveal no marks of moment, even under low magnification. Die line through first G in GEORGIUS, top of E in that word broken, E of REX from same punch, reverse with jogging die crack through IA, the period that follows, and the 1 in the date. Sharply struck -- even the harp's angel has virtually complete details. Choice for the grade and suitable to many high-grade cabinets of early American coinage.

PCGS#: 176
