Description

1723 Wood's Hibernia Farthing. Martin 3.18-Bc.5, W-12350. Rarity-4. DEI. GRATIA. REX. AU-58 (PCGS).

56.6 grains. A glossy and lustrous specimen with exceptional eye appeal and sound physical quality throughout. The deep golden-tan surfaces present bold design elements that are only nominally softened on the high points by its short stint in circulation. We note a tiny and completely natural planchet flaw at the X on the obverse, otherwise this piece is essentially flawless, even under low magnification. Choice for the grade and an ideal candidate for an advanced type set.

PCGS#: 176

Pedigree: From the Ted L. Craige Collection. Acquired November 16, 1961, name of seller illegible (Geiger?). Paper envelope with attribution notation and Picker envelope included.
