1843 Liberty Seated Silver Dollar. AU-53 (PCGS).
Plenty of vibrant satin luster remains on both sides of this lightly circulated, moderately abraded example. Otherwise untoned, blushes of pretty reddish-russet patina are largely confined to the obverse periphery and lowermost portion of the reverse border.
Liberty Seated dollars, especially from the early years of the series, provide solid value at the AU level, with AU specimens picking up the slack in most collections owing to the scarcity of many of the dates of the design type in Mint State. The popularity of AU pieces should shine through when the bidding activity begins for this specimen.
