1830 Capped Bust Half Dollar. O-119. Rarity-1. Medium 0. MS-61 (NGC).
Peripheral toning in rich copper-russet and charcoal-blue shades frames an otherwise reddish-apricot obverse. Similar colors are seen around the reverse periphery, but the balance of that side is brilliant. The crossbars of the reverse shield are typically blunt for an example of this die marriage, but this BU type candidate is much more sharply defined in most other areas. The only abrasions of note are concentrated in the right-obverse field, and they are well concealed by the toning.
