Superior Gem 1855 Silver Three-Cent
Only 4 Finer at CAC

1855 Silver Three-Cent Piece. MS-65 (PCGS). CAC.
Pale golden toning at the centers is framed by rich bronze irridescence near the borders of this stunning Gem. Nicely struck for the issue with uniform satiny luster. Only 10 examples rank higher at PCGS while just 4 are finer at CAC. This is truly an important opportunity for PCGS Registry Set participants.
The Type II design of 1854 to 1858 is the scarcest in the silver three-cent series, and the 1855 is the rarest issue of the type with a mintage of just 139,000 circulation strikes. Only about 30 coins survive in Gem condition and this piece offers exceptional quality in every respect.
