On December 8, 2015, during Session C of our December Hong Kong Auction we will offer a unique 1863 $10 Hong Kong Branch Note from the Chartered Bank of India, Australia & China. Incorporated by James Wilson under Royal Charter from Queen Victoria in 1853, the bank redefined the banking system in the Far East.

The note features handwritten signatures, detailed lathe work, and the body is problem free with regard to repairs. A few minor edge tears, and a touch of rust exist, but otherwise the note is in much better condition than typical Very Good graded notes. This piece is being offered in lot 70097, and carries an estimate of $15,000 to $20,000.

Visit our website to view all the appealing notes in our upcoming Hong Kong Auction. To view lots and bid visit www.stacksbowers.com. We are currently accepting consignments for our 2016 auction season. To include your items, contact a consignment director at 800-458-4646 or visit our website at StacksBowers.com.
