The New Stack’s Bowers Gallery Opens on Park Avenue in Manhattan

While we often talk about the auctions that Stack’s Bowers Galleries presents – and they are definitely worthy of the attention – we are also very proud of our retail services, whether it is helping collectors build their cabinets through direct sales, buying and selling precious metals, or providing a way for people to quickly access the value of coins, bullion and paper money through immediate sale.

Most recently we have opened a new flagship gallery at 470 Park Avenue in Midtown Manhattan. Like our historic West 57th Street storefront where we have done business for over 50 years, this new gallery at 470 Park Avenue will serve as the East Coast’s premier numismatic destination for a new generation of collectors.

Harvey Stack likes to talk about how Stack’s was always a meeting place for numismatists, a coin collectors’ club where people would come together to talk coins, show off their recent purchases and use the firm’s library for research. I remember visiting the store at 123 W. 57th Street many times and being welcomed in by members of the Stack family and their staff. It is our goal that the new gallery on Park Avenue will continue to be a place where numismatists come for information, advice, and excellent personal service. And now it is my family doing the welcoming, as my son Andrew has worked in our New York store for more than a decade.

Our new location will offer the firm’s entire range of services including appraisals, gold and silver bullion and retail sales, and information and advice on auctioning your numismatic treasures. Collectors will be able to view coins and paper money available for direct purchase and will also be able to view lots from upcoming SBG auctions at our public lot viewing events held at the gallery. Right now we recommend that you contact us to make an appointment to come in by calling 800-566-2580 or emailing [email protected] Of course, we always welcome visitors and walk-in consultations will be accommodated pursuant to local COVID-19 guidelines.
