The largest world paper money show held during the year in the United States is coming up June 18 to 21, and dealers are getting ready to travel to the “Home of the Blues.” The venue is the Cook Convention Center in Memphis. As we left the recent Long Beach Expo the parting expression among currency dealers was, “See you in Memphis.” The show is always exciting with many dealers holding back fresh material for this event.

The Stack’s Bowers Galleries currency staff will be attending the Memphis International Paper Money Show at the Cook Convention Center, June 12-15. Peter Treglia, Matt Quinn, and Brad Ciociola will be on hand to accept consignments for the 2015 ANA World’s Fair of Money Auction, as well as buy and sell U.S. and World currency.

Members of our Stack’s Bowers Currency Team will be at two major conventions next week accepting auction consignments and buying and selling currency. Director of Currency Peter Treglia and D.J. Olivares will be attending the Chicago Paper Money Expo (CPMX) in Rosemont, Illinois March 5-7.  Currency Specialist Brad Ciociola will be at the ANA National Money Show in Portland, Oregon, March 4-6.

A pair of significant events is on the horizon for the Stack’s Bowers Galleries Rare Currency Department. The two auctions, while occurring only a few days apart, will be held at near geographic opposites of the world.

The Stack's Bowers Galleries Official Auction of the August 2014 ANA World's Fair of Money is just around the corner and the currency staff at Stack's Bowers Galleries have been hard at work putting together a wonderful auction of rare and exciting material for bidding competition. 

Did you know Stack’s Bowers Galleries will showcase the “Educational Note” sheets pedigreed to The Harry W. Bass, Jr. Collection in our Official Auction of the American Numismatic Association’s World’s Fair of Money? The first sheets for the series, the group comprises three original sheets: the 1896 Silver Certificate “Educational Notes” of the $1, $2, and $5, each with serial numbers 1 to 4 graded PMG About Uncirculated 55.

The most significant collection of North Carolina obsolete currency to be sold in years will cross the auction block next week in the Stack's Bowers Galleries Official Auction of the Whitman Coin & Collectibles Baltimore Expo. The Thomas A. Gray Collection of North Carolina Obsolete Currency  will comprise more than 150 lots that span the geographic range of the state and include both issued notes and proofs.
