Brad Ciociola
Brad Ciociola has been collecting coins and paper money for as long as he can remember. The son of a dealer he grew up on bourse floors at coin and currency shows across the country. He received his Bachelor's of Science Degree in Communication with a Concentration in Journalism from East Carolina University in 2010 and decided to go into numismatics full time. Prior to joining Stack's Bowers Galleries he worked as an auction consignment director as well as a third-party currency grader.
As a currency specialist for Stack's Bowers Galleries, Brad's responsibilities include auction cataloging, buying and selling U.S. currency, and assisting collectors and dealers with consignments. He also writes the firm’s weekly currency blog. His areas of expertise include U.S. Large Size Currency, National Banknotes, Obsolete Currency and Confederate Currency. He is a member of the American Numismatic Association, the Professional Currency Dealer's Association, the Blue Ridge Numismatic Association, Florida United Numismatists and the North Carolina Numismatic Association. The last organization named him their 1998 Young Numismatist of the Year. Brad's collecting interests include North Carolina National Bank Notes and Obsolete Currency, particularly items from the eastern part of the state. He also collects Confederate $100 "Train & Hoer" notes and is a member of the CSA Trainmen group. A native of Durham, North Carolina, Brad and his wife Ashley reside in Fuquay-Varina, North Carolina.
